Sally Jo Wiegand DeGroot 63, of Chiefland, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2010 at her son’s home in Anderson, Missouri.
Sally began her journey on August 14, 1946 one of five children born to William Jay Wiegand and Betty Jane Gapen. Sally lived in Chiefland, Florida for six years coming from Brooksville, Florida. She recently came to Anderson, Missouri to be closer to her son during her illness. She was a licensed Practical Nurse working in the private sector, hospitals and hospice. Sally was a member of the Otter Creek Baptist Church in Otter Creek, Florida. She was a doll collector and enjoyed sewing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents ~ William Wiegand and Betty Gapen.
Survivors include her two sons ~ Todd Arnold and wife, Marie of Bessemer City, North Carolina, Wesley Bailey and wife, Brandy of Anderson, Missouri; two brothers, David Wiegand and wife, Mary of Drakesville, Iowa, Kenneth Wiegand and wife, Susan of Peoria, Illinois; two sisters, Barb Voll of Glendale Heights, Illinois, Marjorie Feucht of Washington, Illinois; grandchildren, Isabella and Tucker Bailey of Anderson, Missouri, Charles Russell of Gastovia, North Carolina, Christy Beatty of Stanley, North Carolina, Phillip Reep and Marcie Davis (God Grandchild) of Bessemer City, North Carolina and four great-grandchildren.
Saturday January 30, 2010, 10:00 a.m.
Private memorial service will be held in Drakesville, Iowa.
